PLASMAGE
As we ‘grow up’, we notice our skin becoming less firm and less elastic, causing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The combination of these visible skin changes, as well as volume loss, are responsible for the aging appearance of the face.
Our medical grade fractional plasma treatment (Plasmage ®) is a non-surgical treatment option, which is used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, as well as tighten sagging skin.
Plasmage ® uses plasma energy to create controlled microthermal treatment zones; effectively it removes micro-plugs of skin. The thermal effect stimulates collagen production and as the skin heals, remodelling occurs, resulting in firmer tighter skin. Treatment may be either corrective or cosmetic (to enhance the appearance).
EYELID TIGHTENING
Sagging or drooping eyelids can be hereditary or occur over time, with increasing age. One of our most popular treatments is ‘blepharoplasma’, where excess eyelid skin is reduced in either the upper or lower eyelid, to give a firming and tightening effect.
FINE LINES & WRINKLES
Plasmage ® is also used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines anywhere on the face or neck. The use of Plasmage ® in these areas reduces fine lines and wrinkles and results in skin, giving a smoothing and rejuvenating affect.
XANTHELASMA
This is the term for yellowish deposits of cholesterol underneath the skin. Often occurring around the eye area, they are neither harmful to the skin nor painful, but these minor growths may cause distress. Plasmage ® is used to successfully remove these lesions without surgical intervention.
FIBROMA & HYPERTROPHIC SCARS
These are conditions where growth of excessive skin tissue occurs, creating raised and fibrous areas on the skin that can cause distress or affect self-esteem. Excellent results can be achieved with Plasmage ®.
SKIN TAGS
Skin tags are painless, noncancerous growths, connected to the skin by a small, thin stalk. They can appear anywhere on your body, though they’re commonly found in places where your skin folds such as armpits, groin, thighs, eyelids, neck and the area under your breasts. Plasmage ® provides a quick and simple treatment method for removal.
Plasmage ® is also used to effectively treat acne scarring, verrucae and solar lentigo (patches of pigment, also called ‘liver spots’).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Does it hurt?
A. While everyone experiences levels of discomfort differently, those receiving Plasmage ® treatments often describe a feeling of heat or mild discomfort at times. We use a topical numbing cream prior to treatment to minimise any discomfort.
Q. Is there much downtime after treatment?
A. The device creates microthermal treatment zones; these small dots are visible immediately after the treatment and result in tiny scabs which gradually heal and fall off over the period of 7 – 10 days. Some swelling is also common after treatment, which may be more obvious on day two. The area treated may be tender for 1-4 days. Makeup can be used to cover any redness, once the skin has healed; this redness will resolve over about 2 months.
Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. This depend on the area to be treated, the severity of your concern and your expectations of the result. As a guide, most people need between 1 and 3 treatments, with a minimum of 3 months between each treatment.
